Silver pendant inspired by the fresco from the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri, Thera (Santorini), 17th century BC. The design depicts blue monkeys climbing on rocks over wavy bands representing water, recalling the island's volcanic landscape. The monkeys were foreign to Theran fauna and probably imported from the East Mediterranean.
