T-shirt Painting Athenian Owl
Cotton t-shirt painting activity featuring the Athenian tetradrachm or "Athenian Owl" (5th century BC). Children can paint this design inspired by the ancient coin depicting the goddess on the front side and the sacred bird of the goddess, the owl, on the reverse along with the inscription ΑΘΕ (ATHE), the abbreviation for the name of the city of Athens. This educational activity helps children learn about ancient Greek coinage that circulated in many countries and is today depicted on the Greek one-euro coin.
